On July 13th, 2025 I (stan) had my very first solo show in the city of Milwaukee. Uptown Metamorphosis is a prayer. It is an ode to those before me and my living experience before today. It is the understanding that I am everything all at once. I don’t think I’ll recognize the deed done or the path beaten until my old age. There’s a certain kind of peace in the unknown; like the three day  trek to the mountain top. I’ve seen 400 years worth of tears. I’ve seen internal bonds be reignited and called upon. I wonder if my ancestors knew Uptown could shine so bright or make this much noise. I say push in my Etta James tune.
